The concept i decided to develop comes from the "This is not a pipe" painting, and ... setting a dinner area (table cloth, plate, glass.....) but with the food printed on the plate, the water in the glass.... so you get the idea/illusion of food, but in reality is just an image on a real thing.

here are some tests i did, and the final set up (with time, money .... i would have liked to have it it printed on real plates, glasses etc... and with a end result more neat, but i think the idea gets throw. :)

For our last assignment i think i will get influenced by Rene Magritte, where his work has always interested.

Magritte's work is more conceptual that his contemporary mates. Whereas Dalí invokes to the emotional subconscious, Magritte appeals to the intelligence of the observer, looking always for the intellectual or verbal contradiction. For example, the title of his works is also surrealistic and rarely it corresponds with the content.

His intended goal for his work was to challenge observers' preconditioned perceptions of reality and force viewers to become hypersensitive to their surroundings.

Panorama

for the panorama project, i decided to shot at the airport while waiting to take the plane back to LA, but i tried to shot in a uncommon perspective. Which i have to admit it started by trying not to get people mad by thinking that i was directly taking pictures of them.

Once i started shooting, and messing around with the subject (american fast food culture) i came up with the idea of ... shooting from the first bite until is all gone, and then mount all the images creating an animation. So as a result i would have 4 videos of 4 different persons eating four different american typical fast food items.

Print wise i would print all the images as a contact sheet.

PD this is the first attempt where the idea came out, i need to retake them fixing the lighting try to match the background for the for persons to make it more unified.

As the photographic project we are asked to work on, i-m chosen the American culture, and narrowed to their food habits!

i wanna capture, the large sizes you get, the ways of eating, the life style surrounding the eating moments. And then focus on black and white contrast images and then hand color them.
